Phoenix Bolivar

Phoenix Bolivar came literally zooming into our lives at the end of January 2024. We were lucky enough for Teresa to drop him off and he did zoomies within 10 minutes of being in the house. Little did we know this is a daily occurrence with him; he takes himself off to the garden to do them or the lounge, knocking all the sofa cushions on the floor. 

What can I say about Phoenix Bolivar? After a first night of panting and sleeping he settled straight in like he had always been here. He took to my two female dogs straight away and stole our hearts. He’s a big bouncy clumsy ball of energy, loves his walks and his balls. 

It’s not been completely plain sailing with Phoenix Bolivar - he has definitely seen some trauma in his short little life. We have had times he can be reactive to men and he has clearly been teased with food and taught to jump very high. He is like Tigger! We have slowly been working with him to teach him this isn’t the way to earn treats and that we can be calm and earn rewards. He’s very clever and picks things up very quickly but patience, as with all dogs, is needed and it has taken some time. We are still working on when visitors arrive. The excitement is overwhelming as he thinks everyone is coming to see him!

He is honestly the sweetest soul. He loves a cuddle and to be with you as much as possible. He gets so excited when it’s time for the school run - he runs to the door and curls up in the footwell of the car. 5pm is crazy play time before he settles down to snore for the evening. 

He’s filled a big hole that was left in our hearts when we lost our Chihuahua in 2023. We’d be lost without him now.
